One of the most under appreciated things about God is His reliability. He never fails. He never misses a beat. We on the other hand leave much to be desired.
One of the things you can do when you choose to get right with God is to work on your integrity.
In other words, let your yes be yes and your no be no. be a man of your word.God is Spirit: then let his worshippers give him worship in the true way of the spirit. --John 4:24
But above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath; but your yes is to be yes, and your no, no, so that you may not fall under judgment. -James 5:12
Be honest. Be truthful. If you promise someone something, stick to it. People judge you more by your actions than your words. If you become a habitual person of trust, that character reflects on your faith. To paraphrase Scripture: “how can you claim to love God when you treat your brother like blended crap?”
But the one who hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going because the darkness has blinded his eyes. 1 John 2:11 NASV
Commitment to God is shown in your keeping of promises to those you can see. Your integrity reflects your moral compass. Your compass should be pointing to God.
Nothing destroys a marriage faster than mistrust. Nothing gets you between the sheets and other silky things better than trust. Trusting, and knowing are two words rarely used in sex but they are everything. Commitment.
Here is the audio podcast with some more points about it I put up last night. It features a new intro song and in the closing, a singing testimony that says basically that “God is…”
If you are trying to get back in good with God. It starts with integrity. Redeveloping yours.
"Offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship." Romans 12:1
